Call: 07715 587604

Our telephone line is open: Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 17:00 and Friday 09:00 to 16:30.

We can offer pre-booked services outside of these hours, including at weekends. We require 48 hours’ notice but, depending on our volunteers’ availability, we will try to help out when shorter notice is given. Health-related visits are always given priority, as volunteer availability allows.

Client Information

The Calne & District Link Scheme is a volunteer organisation offering help and assistance for those in need in the SN11 postcode area. The Scheme is funded by donations and we are grateful for all donations received

Our Services

If you need our services, please telephone 07715 587604. Your call will be answered by a Link coordinator who will take details of your request and assign it to one of our volunteers. Please leave a message if there is no answer and we will call you back.

You can also send us an email at: info@calnelinkscheme.org.uk or leave us a message via the form on the Contact Us page.

We offer our services to people in the SN11 postcode area.

We can provide transport to appointments at local doctors' surgeries, opticians and dentists as well as at other health-related locations. We also travel further afield, to destinations such as hospitals, within a 60-mile radius of Calne Town Hall.

We can offer transport for activities such as at lunch clubs and sports centres, but we may need to prioritise essential medical trips, depending on volunteer availability.

The Calne & District Link Scheme can also offer a Help at Home Volunteer service, where a volunteer will visit a client at home. This may help with respite for the client and for their loved ones or carers.

What will it cost?

There is no set charge for our service, but we do invite clients to make a donation towards the cost of running the Calne & District Link Scheme. Cash or cheque donations can be left in the envelope given to you by your driver or volunteer. If you wish to make a donation by bank transfer, please ask our coordinator for details. Cheques should be made payable to the Calne & District Link Scheme. A list of suggested donations is available on request.

A mileage allowance is paid to our volunteer drivers. We also have telephone and other administrative expenses.

We could not continue to operate without the donations that we receive from service users.
