We can offer pre-booked services outside of these hours, including at weekends. We require 48 hours’ notice but, depending on our volunteers’ availability, we will try to help out when shorter notice is given. Health-related visits are always given priority, as volunteer availability allows.

Welcome to the website of the Calne & District Link Scheme. We are a voluntary organisation offering help with transport and assistance for those in need in the SN11 postcode area. The scheme is funded by donations and we are grateful for all donations received.

We can provide services for people living in the SN11 postcode area. As well as providing transport to local destinations, we also travel further afield, to hospitals and other destinations up to a 60-mile radius from Calne Town Hall.

Our services may be booked outside of these hours and at weekends, depending on volunteer availability. We require 48 hours’ notice but, depending on our volunteers’ availability, we will try to help out when shorter notice is given.

The Link coordinator is happy to receive enquiries from clients personally, or on their behalf through their Doctors, Nurses, Social Services, friends or relatives.

Please note, our service is dependent on volunteer availability and we may need to prioritise medical journeys for the most vulnerable in our community.

I’ve had most of the Calne Link’s volunteer drivers and I have found everyone to be very friendly and I end up in a conversation about their life and mine. As far as the administration of Calne Link goes, I’ve found the coordinators very helpful! They have never had a problem finding a driver and all in all it’s been a lovely experience!"
